Facing design problems...

Job 2, Day 4

Engineers always try to design things... a thing so it does the job with the fewest blocks or stuff. Is there any way you can reduce the number of blocks you're using?

I gave that group the black blocks I didn't need. I got rid of 15 blocks.

What does your program do?

Go forward for six seconds and stop. Then go back for six seconds and stop.

Why isn't your robot acting as you expect it should? Your program looks OK to me.

We found that the thing that carried the barrels was pushing on the run button and the engine kept going and going and didn't stop.

Job 2, Day5

What are you doing today?

We're finished. We fixed the problem with the run button.

What would happen if the barrels coldn't be tipped over on the side. Or what would happen if people were busy at the other end and didn't get the film container out in time before the robot came back? What could you do? Want time to think?

Why is it so tall?

We need room for the touch sensor but it is not heavy enough.

I have to push down on the top or it doesn't come back. Can we get some more sand?

Sure.

Job 2, Day 6

We came up with the idea for it right away but we had trouble with the gears. Then we had to make the film containers stand up and we thought of a way to check if there was a film container there. We made it wait until the film container was taken out at the other end before the robot returned for another film container. We made it wait for one second so people could climb off the robot before it started to move.
