The Wedding Dress
Following is a story by a student from the 2/3 classrooms at Dr. Morris Gibson Elementary school.  This artifact belongs to the family of the author, however it could have been found in the Baptist Church in the past.

By: Kelly

I am Kelly. This is my great-great-grandmother's wedding dress. Her name was Flora McKechnie and she got married in 1889 to Adam Brown. When my Mom showed me this wedding dress I said "WOW!" I couldn't believe it was my great-great-grandma's I thought it belonged to my great grandma. I thought her dress was really different than the wedding dresses of today. It was a different color and it had lots of buttons and straps. Maybe zippers weren't invented. This dress is old and I probably wouldn't wear it but maybe I'll get it one day so I can show my children.
