This web quest was developed at Dr. Morris Gibson School to be used as a way to stimulate interest in the fascinating country of China.  Students will be asked to prospect for information, gaining valuable background knowledge.  Once this is achieved they will use the facts they gather to interpret and demonstrate their level of understanding.  In pairs they will make a presentation to their fellow classmates.

The second phase of the project has been designed for students to produce a newspaper on China. Students are expected to choose one of 6 international journalist roles.  Each journalist is part of an editorial team which must produce 6-8 articles on various aspects of life in China. The journalists then must compile their articles into a newspaper format. Each newspaper article should also include pictures, maps, graphs and graphics etc...

The project has been designed to utilize internet resources along with other traditional reference materials such as books, newspapers, magazines and encyclopaedias. The time needed to complete the project as designed is from 4 to 5 weeks depending on class contact hours and computer availability.
