Mic-mac - Dan and Brandon

Today I woke up to the smell of smoke, which filed the bark made wigwam as my mother was cooking our first meal; I was feeling very hungry. The fire also keeps me warm as I was sleeping on the ground. Later my mother will go to the garden to harvest some corn and squash in the big field, which everybody shares. After that my mother will go to tap maple syrup from some maple trees. 100 people work and lived at this village. My father is going hunting for moose, beavers and caribou with the other men. I will then play with the other kids when my parents are gone. Tomorrow I can not wait because I will get to help my uncles fish from the canoe with hooks, lines, nets and sometimes a harpoon. This is my favorite thing to do. I love watching my uncles fish. When he goes fishing my dad gets shellfish; sea animals like seals and whales. My mother will then dry the fish so we can eat it in the winter for our food.
