I think endangered means people are shooting animals. I want to help endangered animals, like wolves, tigers and whales. These animals are dying and some of them turn into coats. Ryley asks: I am studying the cheetah, and I want to know why they are the fastest animals on the planet. Can you help me? Sean Bell replies: In a word, FOOD. Cheetahs are as fast as they are to better outrun fast prey, but there are disadvantages. In a response I left for Spencer, I give a little more detail, and would suggest you read that over as well. |
Ryley says:
The cheetah is an endangered animal. People kill the cheetch to use their
fur as a coat. Ms. R-M replies: Hi Ryley, I have a coat that is made out of fabric. To make that fabric, crops were grown, chemicals used and people employed. My red coat comes from materials from the earth and some chemicals were used that might have hurt the earth. I try my best to think about the things that I want or need and how they are made and how that might affect the earth and those that live on it. Just about every thing I buy, affects the earth in a negative way. When we think about people killing cheetahs for a coat, we might think that is really the wrong thing to do for lots of reasons. It is tricky to know what is right and wrong when I think about what I want and need. Some people REALLY WANT a cheetah coat and it is worth it to them to kill endangered animals to have it. What do you think? Ms. R-M Ryley replies: I don't think it is worth it to kill endangered animals just to have a fur coat. There are very nice coats that you can buy that are not made from an endangered animal. I don't have a coat made in an endangered animal. Ryley |
