Lobke says: I drew the Grizzle Bear because it is endangered. They hunt for Grizzly Bears in the Spring.

Ms R-M replies: Dear Lobke, Once, my brother shot a grizzly bear. He took the bear home and skinned it and then gave the meat to the coyotes. Then he made a rug of the Grizzly Bear skin. My brother thinks that it is a very beautiful rug and because he spent alot of money for a guide and licenses, that it was ok for him to shoot the grizzly. He explained that the money goes back to the government from the licenses and then the government can use the money to pay biologists and others to study animals. He said that he was given a license for an area where biologiists and conversation offiicers counted the grizzlys and thought there were enough bears that it was ok for hunters to shoot them there. What do you think about that? Ms. R-M  

Lobke replies: I don't think that they should shoot any bears ever. What if your brother had shot a mother bear, the mother would be dead and the cubs wouldn't be able to survive. By killing one bear a few more suffer. Lobke

Lobke says: Extinction means that all the dinosaurs died because it was too cold. I don't like that they are hunting for animals. I want lots of animals in the world so we can see them, not just a few different animals.

Lobke asks: I am studying grizzly bears and I want to know why people are killing them. Do you know why? I also want to know why they are dying?
